My New Year’s Resolution - Get a New Free Cell Phone Every Year
December 30, 2007 by John · Leave a Comment
New cell phones come out every month. And people want to change their phones as often as possible. New cell phones always have more features than the ones you have been holding for the past 3 months. However, in reality we are often locked up by 2-year contracts and afraid of paying the hefty Early Termination Fees. I still remember the old days when the standard contract is only one year and you can switch carriers and get the brand new phones every 12 month. The good news now is that carriers are gradually adopting the prorated ETF policy in which you can get out of the contract for a portion of the regular ETF depending on the number of remaining month in the contract. Verizon has put the porated EFT in effect, AT&T, T-Mobile, and Sprint will do the same in 2008. So getting free cell phones will be easier in 2008. Simply call your carrier find out if you can get out of your current contract for a small fee. Other carriers are offering dozens of unbelievable cell phone deals to “help” you switch your number over. Hope everyone gets a free cell phone in 2008.

You haven’t received a brand new cell phone that you always wanted? you are still in luck. Many carriers are still pushing the holiday sale through the first week of January. There are tons of free cell phones with no out of pocket expense. You will find the most popular razr phones for free plus up to $100 back after rebates. If you still opt for the iphone, sorry, it will still cost you $399. Come on, look at other alternatives like the HTC Touch for Sprint, $249 out of the door price, and a $250 rebate eventually brings down the cost to $0. There is even a better deal on T-Mobile Wing - $50 cash back after rebates, out of pocket cost $0.

I just came across the hottest deal for this holiday - The Blackberry Curve 8300 for AT&T is $0, wait, actually you can make $99 after mail-in rebates. WOW, that’s one of the best cell phone deals I ever found. You can’t find anywhere else. It’s currently an exclusive offer at letstalk.com. Although there are dozen of free cell phones for sale this holiday, I personally find the Blackberry the perfect gift for adults or anyone who would like to check emails and go online anytime and anywhere. If you don’t mind receiving the phone after Christmas, order it today and it should be at your door on Dec. 26th.
Palm Treo 755p for Verizon Wireless

After a long delay of 7 months - that’s right, Verizon was supposed to release the new Treo 755p around the same time when Sprint did in May. I guess Palm still can’t afford to lose the largest CDMA partner in the US. Here is the deal: $400 with a two year contract! Are you willing to pay $150 more than the same phone at Sprint that’s considered 7 month old? There is nothing you haven’t seen on the Sprint’s Treo 755p. And the Palm Centro is selling for $99 at Sprint with pretty much the same functionality. You can even get the Centro for free at many online stores. There are tons of free cell phones and deals during Christmas time, save your $400 for something else.

so what phones are you getting for this holiday season? How much are you willing to spend on a new phone? Many people already have iPhone in their mind long before the holiday shopping season started kickoff. There are a lot of promotions going on with some of the hottest AT&T music phones - you get one year of free music from Napster plus free 2gb of mini sd card. The best deal I found so far is Samsung SGH-a717. It offers 2.0 Megapixel Camera - for Picture Messaging, AT&T Music player with multiple formats, Stereo Bluetooth® connectivity, microSD(TM) memory slot for Picture, Video, and Music storage. However, it’s currently backordered, you might need to wait a week or two. Other great deals include the Blackjact II for $49 after rebates, free Samsung SGH-a737 Blue. But, Please Hurry, you must activate your Napster account prior to December 31st to be eligible for these free phones.
