HTC EVO 3D Specs

HTC EVO 3D Specs Here are the official HTC EVO 3D specs from Sprint:

  • Android 2.3 with HTC Sense
  • Dual Core 1.2GHz processor
  • Features 4.3-inch, 960×540 qHD display in 3D
  • Dual 5 Megapixel camera with Flash that lets you take 3D or 2D videos,
  • 1.3 megapixel front-facing camera
  • 1080p HD video output, 720p in 3D
  • 4GB internal memory and it’s expandable via SD card
  • 4.96″ x 2.56″ x 0.47″
  • Weighs only 6.0 oz with battery
  • WiMax 4G and Personal Wi-Fi Hotspot

All I can say it’s freaking awesome! The design is very similar the EVO 4G. With more advanced specs on the HTC EVO 3D we thought this phone would weigh a bit more than the original EVO - not at all. You can toggle between 2D and 3D with the side switch on the right side. The best thing is that you don’t need glasses to view 3D. Can’t wait to get my hands on it!

DROID X vs. DROID 2 Global Which One Is Better

March 17, 2011 by John · Leave a Comment

DROID X vs. DROID 2 Global Which One Is Better Looking inside DROID X and DROID 2 Global - they have a lot of similarities - both have a speedy processor and 512MB of RAM. However, the DROID 2 Global has slightly faster processor - 1.2 GHz vs. 1 GHz from DROID X. So which one is better? Let’s compare some other hardware features that are visual to users. The biggest difference is outside. Ask yourself what is important to you DROID X vs. DROID 2 Global? It really comes down to what you use it for. The DROID 2 Global is smaller but not slimmer due the slide-out keyboard. If you enjoy watching movies and YouTube on the go, the bigger screen on the Motorola DROID X definitely make it a winner. The high-end 8MP Camera on the MOTO DROID X beats the DROID 2 Global! Record up to 720p HD videos and use the built-in HDMI Output to connect to your HD TV. Calling the DROID X a mobile Home Theater? It’s not an overstatement at all.

The only complaints I heard are from people who might still have trouble getting used the virtual keyboard. But once you get a hang of it - you actually type faster than using a physical keyboard. Motorola DROID X and DROID 2 Global which one is better? I definitely prefer the Motorola DROID X. Want to test both? Sign up a Verizon family data plan and try them for 30 days.

How to Tell If a Cell Phone is Locked

March 14, 2011 by John · Leave a Comment

A locked phone basically means that you can only use it with one particular carrier. Many people want to unlock the phone so they can use it on a different network. So, how do you tell if a cell phone is locked or not? You need to have 2 SIM cards. One is from the phone and carrier you have now. Another SIM card from a different carrier. If you don’t know how to locate the SIM card read the user’s manual first. Most of the phones today have a slot where you can just pop it open with a push. Or you need a tiny pin to stick and then pull it out. Make sure you turn off the phone before removing the SIM.

Next insert the SIM card from a different carrier. If you have AT&T, bring in a SIM card from T-Mobile. Turn on your cell phone. If no error message shows up and all the contact information from T-Mobile can be view and edit on the AT&T phone then this phone is definitely not locked. To be just 100% sure, make a few phone calls, text messages, and surf the web to see if it works.

That’s how to tell if a phone is locked or not.

What are the Disadvantages of Prepaid Phones?

March 9, 2011 by John · Leave a Comment

Best Prepaid Cell Phone Plans What are the disadvantages of a prepaid phone if you are thinking to use one? Sure you don’t have to be locked into a 24-month contract but you are losing a lot of benefits as a postpaid customer. First, any Pay As You Go phone doesn’t include anytime minutes let alone free nights and weekends. You will have to pay by minute. Depending how much you buy on a prepaid card the minimum minute charge can start as high as 30 cents and minutes. So and 1 hour call can cost you $18 and 3 hours a month will cost you $54. That’s more than a typical $40/month contract plan. Of course you can prepay more so lock in a low rate like 10 cents an minute. One of the biggest disadvantages is that you won’t be able to make calls before you refill the account. If you have an important call to make, forget it.

Another drawback of owning prepaid cell phones is that you have to pay for the phone itself while other people can enjoy a brand new phone free out of pocket. The phone you want to put on a prepay plan can cost you as much as $500 if you insist on getting the latest smartphones like Android. The cheapest option is to find a basic flip phone, which costs $100 or less. Read more

Best Prepaid Cell Phone Plans

March 8, 2011 by John · 3 Comments

Best Prepaid Cell Phone Plans It’s not hard to find a right prepaid wireless phone at a great price? The most important part is how to select the best prepaid cell phone plans available today. The basic rate plan from Net10 costs only 10 cents a minute. If you are only use a go phone as emergency phone this basic plan makes sense. However, as the minutes go up so does the total cost. $40 only buys you 400 minutes. That’s quite expensive compared to a $40 postpaid plan that offers unlimited nights and weekends. AT&T pre-paid plan also offer something similar. However, if you purchase more minutes at once you will get some discount - this general rule applies to most of the Go Phone carriers. You will find cheap Metro PCS cell phone plan that starts at just $40 that offers you unlimited local and nationwide calling days and nights. This is the best prepaid plan you can get for a flat fee. No matter which MetroPCS plan you are choosing you rest assured that all fees are already covered by the plan price, including tax and Federal communication fees. I had doubts on whether you should switch to Metro PCS before. But now that they offer more phone selection I can’t help but thinking to take advantage of the great plan price they current offer.
