Is T-Mobile Getting iPhone 5

September 9, 2011 by · Leave a Comment

In the U.S., iPhone is currently only available on AT&T and Verizon Wireless network. Is T-Mobile getting the iPhone 5. According to many news outlets and rumor sites, iPhone 5 will be available on T-Mobile and Sprint as well at October’s release. That means more choices for consumers. There has been heavy demand on the iPhone from T-Mobile users – one million of them currently using iPhones that can only run 2G speed on T-Mobile’s 3G network. This time if TMobile still offers the $99.99 unlimited data, talk, and text plan for 2 lines of iPhone 5 I am sure many of us will ditch the $25/2GB data plan from AT&T or the $30/5GB data plan from Verizon Wireless. What’s even more incredible is that you can add 3 additional iPhones for $15 each. So 5 lines of iPhone 5 will only cost you $145 a month. Can’t wait!

Will Sprint Offer Unlimited Data Plan on iPhone 5

September 9, 2011 by · Leave a Comment

We pretty much know that Sprint will start selling the new iPhone 5 in October. But one thing we are not sure yet is that will Sprint offer unlimited data plan on iPhone 5? We very much hope so. According to Bloomberg news, Sprint will continue to offer unlimited data when they introduce the iPhone 5 later this year. Unlike AT&T and Verizon Wireless who cap iPhone data usage at 2GB and 5GB respectively, Sprint will be the only carrier that gives you true unlimited date use. If you are an iPhone user stuck with 2GB or 5GB plan on AT&T or Verizon Wireless you should seriously think about switching to Sprint this time. But before you do that, make sure you can still afford the high ETF of $350 in case you are still in contract. Existing AT&T and Verizon Wireless customers who have been grandfathered unlimited data plans will still be able to keep them when upgrading to iPhone 5.

Get 300 Minutes for Free from Sprint

Sprint now offers bonus 300 minutes for those who sign a new Everything Data 450 or upgrade their existing plans. These free 300 minutes are on top of 450 minutes already included in the plan. That give you a total of 750 anytime minutes to use every month. Do you really need that many minutes? For most of us, you won’t use the minutes up that easily since Sprint unlimited nights start at 7pm, 2 hours earlier than other carriers. You never know. In addition, Mobile to mobile within calling does not count toward the monthly limit. Read more

Verizon Wireless will end the $30/month unlimited data plan on July 7th. New Verizon customers will be able to purchase a 2GB plan at $30 per month, a 5GB plan at $50 per month, and a 10GB at plan $80 per month. This on top of a regular voice plan. Why You Should Upgrade to DROID INCREDIBLE 2

May 11, 2011 by · Leave a Comment

Why You Should Upgrade to DROID INCREDIBLE 2 It’s been over a year since the original DROID INCREDIBLE went on sale and became the most popular Android smartphone for Verizon Wireless in 2010. Here comes new DROID INCREDIBLE 2 that will bring gadget lovers even more excitement. Should you upgrade to DROID INCREDIBLE 2? There have been a number of Android smartphones released this year and many have pretty impressive specs such as dual-core processor and 4.3 inch HD touch screen. The Verizon INCREDIBLE 2 has some major improvements too. It has a bigger screen and faster processor. The camera has been upgraded to 8 megapixels – now you can take HD videos up to 720p. The only thing that we wish HTC had done was to incorporate 4G LTE. Other than that everything looks just perfect. New or current customers who wish to get their hands on this brand new smarphone will have to shell out $200 after rebates.

Should I Upgrade from Palm Pre Plus to HP Veer 4G

May 5, 2011 by · Leave a Comment

AT&T just announced the official release date for HP Veer 4G – May 15th, less than 2 weeks from now. So if you already have Palm Pre Plus, should you upgrade to HP Veer 4G? Although it’s newer phone the Veer 4G is actually powerful than the Pre Plus. Of course, the Veer is not intended to replace the Pre Plus, it’s catering to someone who needs a light, compact, and versatile smartphone. Measured 2.15 inches x 3.31 inches, it’s the same size as a credit card. It’s only 0.59 inch thick and weighs only 3.63 ounces. No other smartphone can come this close to such incredible gadget that you can take anywhere with you without weighing down your pocket or purse. The Pre Plus is still a great phone but if you can find the HP Veer 4G for free with a contract (regular price is $99 with 2-year commitment) from an authorized dealer, then by all means go for the upgrade.

Wireless Carriers Are Blocking Free Tethering

May 4, 2011 by · Leave a Comment

You all know this day will come and all major carriers, including AT&T, Verizon Wireless, and T-Mobile have taken intiatives to block so-called free tethering by using Apps downloaded in Android Market or jailbreak apps (for jailbroken iPhone). The Fun is over, AT&T already sent out text messages and emails to warn those who have been using free thethering. Basically AT&T wants you to sign up a $20 tethering plan on top of $25 data plan. There is a 2GB data cap on tethering. And $10 per GB after reaching the cap. It’s probably the reason many people opt for the free tethering apps. TMobile tethering plan is the cheapest among all carrier, charing only $15 a month for total of 5GB of data transfer. Not everyone needs to tether their smartphone. But if it’s free then more people are likely to try it. $20 is not a big price to pay and you can add or remove this feature on monthly basis. Keep in mind that you still need a data plan before you can add the tethering feature.

Should I Upgrade to BlackBerry Bold 9900 9930

May 3, 2011 by · Leave a Comment

If you have recently purchase a Blackberry Torch from AT&T you already have a great smartphone to work with. But for those are still stuck with Blackberry Curve or previous generation Bold then you should upgrade to Blackberry Bold 9900 or Blackberry Bold 9930 this summer. At just 10.5mm, you are upgrading to the thinnest Blackberry! The Bold 9930 has dual-bank CDMA and quad-bank GSM while the Bold 9900 supports HSPA+ 4G, so it should be available through all carriers include AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon Wireless, and Sprint. What impress us the most are the super slim design and added Near Field Communication technology. So far we know the Bold 9900 and 9300 will be available in classic Black. We will like to see white and red just before the holiday shopping season. Every spec is better than the previous version of Bold and Curve, the only reason that I can think of not upgrading to Bold 9900 and 9930 is the screen size. With just 2.8 inch VGA touchscreen, you might have to sacrifice some real estate that you used to have on 3.25 inch Storm or 3.2 inch touchscreen on the Torch.

Should You Buy Wi-Fi XOOM or Wait for 4G Version from Sprint

May 2, 2011 by · Leave a Comment

You might have heard that the Motorola XOOM is the first real iPad killer (we seriously think it kills the first generation iPad) and it will be available in Wi-Fi only and 4G version. Sprint will be the exclusive 4G WiMax carrier for the XOOM and the device will be available this summer for a little over $600, pretty much in line with iPad 2 32GB price. The Wi-Fi XOOM is already selling at Best Buy, Staples, and Radio Shack. The only place that’s selling the 4G LTE is Verizon Wireless stores. But keep in mind that you will have to send back the XOOM to Motorola for a hardware/software update in order to take advantage the 4G Verizon network. So, should you wait for the WiMax 4G version from Sprint or buy the Wi-Fi only version now? If you are frequent traveler and don’t want to bring your laptop with you all the time, the 4G is ideal choice. Besides, you will save at least $200 over the retail price if you are willing to commit to a 2-year contract. And of course the biggest benefit is the super fast broadband like wireless speed from Sprint.
