Is Verizon Wireless Better than Sprint
February 21, 2009 by John
Thinking about switching cell phone carriers and want to know if Verizon is better than Sprint? Not an easy question to answer. Verizon Wireless just completed acquiring Alltel and became the largest wireless network in North America, with over 83.7 million subscribers while Sprint has 50.5 million customers. Obviously, Verizon Wireless has more customer than any other network, is Verizon better than Sprint? No necessary. By comparing technology, both Verizon and Sprint are on CDMA network and offer the latest 3G EV-DO Rev. A. which enables PC Cards and compatible cell phones to obtain downloading speeds of 600 kbit/s to 1.4 Mbit/s and uploading speeds of 500-800 kbit/s.
By looking at the coverage maps, Verizon seems to have a larger coverage than Sprint. However, in reality, Sprint customer can access cellar network wherever Verizon customers get receptions and vice versa because wireless carriers have agreement to roam via each other’s network. Still think Verizon Wireless is better than Sprint? The final verdict really comes down to the types of phones and gadgets you prefer. Verizon has some exclusive phones and so does Sprint. Just to name a few, Verizon carries Envy 2 while Sprint has Samsung Rant. Both cool text messaging phones and run at near broadband speed. There is no one network absolutely better than the other. Choose a phone you like, test out their network. If you are unsatisfied, simply cancel the service within 30 day and try a different carrier.

Verizon has messed up my billing for years. They signed me up for a family plan from a Third party store and never told me, and when I told Verizon (huge corp.) what had happened, they told me it wasn’t their issue to correct, even though it said Verizon all over the store…. that was all once I got a hold of them though, it took six days. They say a supervisor will call you in twenty-four to seventy-two hours…. never received a call and after six days of me calling them I got a $22 dollar credit. My bill was $353 this month. I was under on minutes. I gave my sister the extra phone from the line I was signed up for, and her internet wasn’t even working for almost three weeks. Still, $353 dollars…. It wasn’t the first time and won’t be the last. My friend has had Sprint for nine years and has not had a single billing issue. I never had issues with AT&T, but my calls were dropped frequently.
