Palm Pre Plus vs. iPhone 3GS Speed

The new Palm Pre Plus runs on a 600 MHz Texas Instruments OMAP CPU with 512 MB DRAM onboard while the iPhone 3GS use 600MHz CPU made by Samsung with 256 MB eDRAM. So let’s do Palm Pre Plus vs. iPhone 3GS speed test. The Pre Plus has double the RAM as iPhone 3GS, it’s logical to think that Palm Pre Plus will run faster. But the truth tells otherwise. Base my hands-on with Pre Plus and iPhone 3GS in the metro NY area - both phone got full 5 bar receptions at the time of testing.

The Pre Plus does NOT have an edge when it comes to browsing the web or loading applications. Applications wise, I am using New York Times as a test app. Both phones load pretty fast when compared to other touch screen phones. But iPhone 3GS is much faster.
