What is the Difference between Palm Pre and Palm Pre Plus
January 7, 2010 by John
We already know that Palm Pre Plus is coming to Verizon Wireless very soon. But what is the difference between Palm Pre and Palm Pre Plus? Any reason you should upgrade to the Pre Plus? As far as the specs concern, the only difference is the internal storage. The Verizon Pre Plus has 16 GB vs. only 8GB on the Sprint version. Not a huge deal if you ask me. There are not plenty of apps there to take up that much space yet. And I am sure by the time Palm Pre 4G comes out it will support 32 GB.
In my opinion, the 8GB difference between Palm Pre and Palm Pre Plus is not worth switching carriers. Of course, if you want to be able enjoy the largest and most reliable 3G network in the United States, definitely go for it. What good is a 3G smartphone is you can’t use it everywhere you want, right?

yea dude you do not know what you are talking about…
Sprint (where the pre first came out) is 4G. THAT IS EVEN MORE RELIABLE AND BETTER THAN 3G so do not sway people from sprint like that.
I am a Verizon employee now, but I have worked for Sprint and AT&T. long story short, I now what I’m talking about since I have been in the biz for over 10 years. Sprint has by far the best 3g coverage and speed…. not At&t or Verizon. Nonetheless, thanks for the free publicity John!
You are right Ben! To me Sprint is the BEST carrier of all. At&t is all brand name and no technology. I have tons of friends all over the US and all they do is complain about call droppings and not being able to wait until their contract expired to switch company. Also what is going on with the IPHONE is making Apple pissed. They went great ways to get the Iphone contract but didnt have the technology to keep up with this phone. Sprint was the first carrier that made me able to travel to Puerto Rico and not having to worry about roaming or anything because it was like I was inside the US. I never had a problem with my billing and customer service is ok. Verizon in the other hand is a good company but not great as sprint. The only thing I dont like about sprint is that they always have the ugliest phones but recently they are getting better, other than that they are the best. Iam a Flight Attendant and I have never been in a destination where I dont received a signal from Sprint.
I switched to Sprint 2 1/2 years ago. Since then I have had a lot better coverage with Sprint than I ever had with Verizon. And the data speeds are way faster on Sprint’s network.Verizon made me pay extra for a VERY limited data plan. With Sprint I have an unlimited data plan at very little cost. I never miss or drop a call with Sprint. Occasionally I go on roaming with Sprint, but Hey! Guess what?? They include FREE ROAMING with my Palm Pre plan. And all mobile-to-mobile calls are unlimited, unlike the usually verizon-to-verizon unlimited crap Verizon gave me.
I would agree with you some what there Jose, Sprint used to have the ugliest phones of all. That is why I used to go with Verizon, because I liked their phones to choose from better. But their Plans were always so expensive. Now Sprint has some pretty cool phones. And you can’t beat their coverage and speed.
Anyways…that’s my 2 cents
I agree as a former Sprint employee and current mobile messaging guru, Sprint is by far more reliable then any other carrier. While yes we all would like more storage space 8 gigs on a phone is quite exceptable as I am not trying to put a blue ray file on my pre. As far as something that would get me to switch to Verizon from Americas first 4g network? Not even longer Battery life on my pre would get me to switch To quote verizon “Can you here me now?” GOOD!!!! Most annoying commercials ever lol.
I like sprint had it since 2008 it’s a great carrier I like their phones there not bad and it’s not worth switching to verizon for the palm pre plus. The palm pre and palm pre plus is the exact same thing except the ram and memory. Sprint has the best plans and I don’t pay much for sprint and also sprint is more ahead they have 4g.
i am a palm pre owner definetly would go any other way they just updated smooth fuk verizon!
